Glass smoke barriers are rigid Class A non-combustible smoke separation components. With certified fire-resistant glass as the main smoke-blocking panel and fireproof metal load-bearing frames, they are vertically anchored to floor slabs, structural beams or the bottom of suspended ceilings. In case of fire, they form sealed smoke reservoirs to block the horizontal spread of high-temperature flue gas. Coordinated with mechanical or natural smoke exhaust systems, they extend the safe evacuation time for occupants, coded as YCB-GL (Glass Smoke Barrier).

Complete System Composition

Fire-resistant glass panel + thickened fireproof metal frame + top load-bearing hanging brackets + fireproof sealing strips + ceiling upper blocking layer

Frame materials: 304 stainless steel, thickened galvanized steel, fire-coated aluminum alloy (profile wall thickness ≥ 1.2 mm, no deformation at 750 ℃ high temperature);

Fixing requirements: Hanging brackets shall be anchored into floor slabs or main structural beams. Fixing merely to ceiling keels or gypsum boards is prohibited to prevent falling and collapse under high temperature;

Splicing treatment: The width of single section ≤ 2000 mm. Extra-long spans shall be assembled in sections, and joints shall be filled with high-temperature-resistant fireproof sealant to eliminate smoke leakage passages.

2. Mandatory Dimensional Parameters

The minimum effective smoke barrier height is 500 mm; For mechanical smoke exhaust, the height of smoke reservoir shall be no less than 10% of the clear height and not less than 500 mm; For natural smoke exhaust, the height of smoke reservoir shall be no less than 20% of the clear height and not less than 500 mm.

For spaces with suspended ceilings: The vertical drop below the ceiling shall be ≥ 500 mm. The cavity inside the ceiling must be fully blocked to prevent flue gas cross-flow above the ceiling.

Wind deflection resistance: Under indoor wind pressure of 5 m/s, the overall deflection angle ≤ 15°, with no risk of permanent deformation or glass falling off.
