Main Components of Fire Roller Shutter
Ⅰ.Galvanized steel slats:
Assembled by hinged high-quality hot-dip galvanized steel sheets. Wind-resistant stiffeners are installed inside the slats to strengthen the overall rigidity of the curtain, improve wind pressure resistance and deformation resistance, and prevent distortion during operation.
Ⅱ.oad-bearing guide rails:
Adopt thickened groove structure with built-in high-temperature resistant seals. They guide the curtain to run smoothly, prevent deviation and derailment, seal gaps, restrain smoke leakage and improve smoke tightness.
Ⅲ.Roller box, fire-rated motor and control box:
The roller bears the full weight of the curtain. It is equipped with a special fire drive motor, backup power supply and manual release mechanism, supporting both automatic electric control and on-site manual operation.
Under normal conditions, the curtain is rolled up inside the box above the opening. It does not occupy passage space and will not affect the normal use of the building. Once a fire is detected, smoke and heat detectors send signals to the fire alarm controller. The shutter operates in accordance with the standard two-stage descending sequence: when the smoke detector activates, the shutter descends to 1.8 m above the ground to facilitate evacuation; when linked by the heat detector, it closes fully to seal the fire compartment.
After closing, the continuous steel slats block direct flame penetration. The fire-resistant seals at slat overlaps and guide rails expand under heat to curb smoke infiltration and slow heat transfer, keeping the temperature on the non-fire side within regulatory limits. In case of power outage or electric control failure, the thermal release device releases the brake at its rated temperature. The curtain falls smoothly by its own weight as a passive fire safety backup, buying time for evacuation and fire fighting.
