Key Points for Design and Installation

1. Preliminary Design Key Points

Align with the building smoke compartment division plan and match the layout of the smoke exhaust system. Ensure smoke barriers are continuously arranged along the boundaries of smoke compartments with no breaks or gaps. Review ceiling height and pipeline layout, and reserve installation space for equipment enclosures and guide rails to prevent pipelines from interfering with the curtain's descent travel.

Flexible roller type is preferred for large-span atriums, while rigid types may be used in passage areas. Balance aesthetic requirements and fire protection functions, and reserve maintenance space and access routes for testing. Verify the clear passage height to ensure the lowered barrier does not obstruct evacuation routes.

Follow fire protection codes strictly for linkage control logic. Adopt the two-smoke-detector logic linkage scheme within each smoke compartment to reduce false actuation risks. Use fire-resistant dedicated cables for signal circuits with proper shielding and fire protection measures.

2. On-site Construction Key Points

Secure the top enclosures and supports with firm anchoring to meet overall levelness requirements. Install guide rails vertically to ensure the curtain slides smoothly throughout its travel. Seal gaps and openings with fire-resistant rock wool and firestop sealant to eliminate smoke leakage paths.

Perform wiring in compliance with fire electrical construction codes; ensure correct wiring for main and standby power supplies and reliable earthing. Mount manual control boxes in visible, easily accessible locations without obstructions. Complete limit setting and calibration of descent depth and stop positions to ensure normal status signal feedback.

Ensure compliant overlap dimensions at multi-section joints, keep the entire curtain surface flat, and apply even counterweighting to the bottom beam to minimise smoke leakage caused by air turbulence. Conduct full-process linkage commissioning, power failure tests and thermal release tests upon completion, and retain all commissioning records.

1. Linked Commissioning

▅Simulate smoke detector alarm signals to verify compliance of linkage sequence, descent speed, final smoke barrier height, and status feedback signals with relevant codes; check the validity of remote manual control functions from the fire control room.

▅Power failure test: Cut off the main power supply to verify proper operation of the standby power supply and gravity descent function. Thermal control test: Confirm that the fusible release device can release the curtain normally under high-temperature conditions.

▅On-site manual test: Check the normal operation of local buttons for descent and stop functions, and ensure no jamming, abnormal noise or deformation occurs.

2. Key Acceptance Verification Items

▅Product qualifications: Fire product certifications, type test reports and product certificates; confirm model and parameters comply with design specifications and national standards.

▅Dimensional parameters: Recheck that the effective vertical drop depth is no less than 500 mm, the clear passage height meets requirements, and guide rails and enclosures are fully sealed.

▅Signal feedback: Dual-channel status signals for upper and lower limit positions shall be correctly uploaded to the fire alarm control panel for real-time equipment status monitoring. Single-channel feedback, signal short-circuiting and other non-compliant practices are strictly prohibited.

▅Appearance and operation: The curtain shall be free of damage and aging; guide rails shall run smoothly, motors shall operate steadily, and there shall be no obvious smoke leakage gaps overall. Markers shall contain complete and clear parameter information.
