The fire resistant rolling shutter features a dual-track, dual-curtain design. Each curtain is made of inorganic fire-resistant fabric, aluminum silicate fiber blanket, radiant heat reflective fabric, and decorative fabric, reinforced with steel wire ropes in the middle, stitched with high-temperature resistant thread, and clamped on both sides with galvanized steel strips. This fire shutter possesses the main characteristics of a steel fire resistant rolling shutter, with a fire resistance rating exceeding 4 hours, strong resistance to heat radiation, and the ability to work independently with its own smoke and heat detectors, or to be integrated with the automatic fire alarm system. It is equipped with a temperature fusible device, enabling automatic descent and alarm in the early stages of a fire, thus preventing fire spread. In addition, compared with steel fire shutters, it has the advantage that the temperature rise on the unexposed side does not exceed 140°C as specified by CB/TPP78, eliminating the need for sprinkler installation. Inside the curtain, steel wire ropes are added as reinforcement. The entire assembly is stitched with high-temperature resistant thread and clamped on both sides with galvanised steel strips to ensure the curtain remains intact and does not deform under high temperatures. The dual-track dual-curtain design not only creates an insulating air layer but also greatly enhances resistance to flame penetration. The fire resistance rating exceeds 4 hours, far surpassing conventional standards.

Compared with traditional steel fire shutters, the most outstanding advantage of this product is its control of temperature rise on the unexposed side. Test results show that the average temperature rise on the unexposed side does not exceed 140°C (in compliance with GB/T 9978.1), with a maximum single-point temperature rise of ≤180°C. This means that even during a fire, the temperature on the non-fire side remains well below the ignition point of nearby combustible materials. Therefore, no additional sprinkler protection system is required. This not only simplifies fire protection design but also significantly reduces installation costs and long-term maintenance burdens.

At the same time, the average curtain weight is only <6 kg/m², compared to 15–30 kg/m² for conventional steel rolling shutters. This dramatically reduces the structural load on the building, making it especially suitable for large-span openings or renovation projects in older buildings with limited load-bearing capacity.

The product can be equipped with integral smoke and heat detectors to operate in stand-alone mode: upon detection of a fire, the shutter automatically descends and sounds an alarm. Alternatively, it can be seamlessly integrated into the building's Fire Alarm System (FAS) to accept centralised commands. As standard, a temperature fusible link device (easily fusible alloy) is provided. In the event of power failure or unmanned conditions, when the ambient temperature reaches the set value (typically 73°C or 138°C), the device mechanically triggers the descent of the shutter by gravity, ensuring early fire compartmentation and preventing fire spread.
